Color Variability of Asteroids in SDSS Moving Object Catalog
We report a detection of statistically significant color variations for a sample of 7,531 multiply observed asteroids that are listed in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Moving Object Catalog. Using 5-band photometric observations accurate to ∼0.02 mag, we detect color variations in the range 0.06-0.11 mag (rms). These variations appear uncorrelated with asteroids physical characteristics such as d...
متن کاملActive Catalog : Searching and Using Catalog Information Ininternet - Based Designs
The exponential growth of the Internet and the increasing communication and computational power have created many opportunities for advancing engineering, manufacturing and business activities. Active Catalog brings a conceptually new idea to design and electronic commerce by providing new forms of catalog information about engineering parts and physical objects. Active Catalog is designed for ...
متن کاملRejewski's Catalog
When attacking the German Enigma cipher machine during the 1930s, the Polish mathematician Marian Rejewski developed a catalog of disjoint cycles of permutations generated by Enigma indicators. By comparing patterns that resulted from message indicators with his catalog, Rejewski was able to determine the ground settings. متن کاملPrologue for a synoptic catalog: combining a hospital library catalog and a bookseller's catalog.
This article introduces the synoptic catalog, a computerized combination of a hospital library catalog and a bookseller's catalog. Majors Scientific Books and Richmond Memorial Hospital Libraries in Virginia collaborated to develop the model. A logical evolution in catalog theory and practice, the design expands the identification, collocation, and evaluation functions of the traditional librar...

Ontario and the 2002 Fall INFORMS Conference. We also gratefully acknowledge the contribution of the company that provided the data for this study and research assistance from Stephen Windsor. Deciding who should receive a mail-order catalog is amongst the most important decisions that mail-order catalogs must address. The current approach to the problem is invariably myopic: firms send catalog...
